Arrest History in Putnam County
The Putnam County Sheriff and Unionville Police Department are distinct arrest-record creators. Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, conservation agents, and other authorized officers may also make arrests here. The agency whose officer acted generally holds the incident or arrest report. A later Putnam County booking may appear on the sheriff’s roster even when another agency created the source report.
An arrest record documents that custody occurred under a warrant or other authority. It may show the time, place, alleged offenses, agency, booking number, bond, and release status. It does not establish guilt. Prosecutors decide what to file, and the formal charge may change. A Putnam County arrest search therefore works best as a chain: arresting-agency report, sheriff booking record, court case, and state repository record where applicable.
Putnam Arrest Reports by Agency
Ask the creator for the actual arrest report. For a sheriff arrest, walk in or mail a request to the administrative office at 1601 Main Street, call 660-947-3200, email admin@putnamso.org, or use the official sheriff contact form. The office does not publish a stand-alone records division, downloadable local request form, fee schedule, or stated turnaround. MSHP separately publishes its criminal record check request form. A narrow local request should identify the record type, date or date range, location, agency, and known report or booking number.

Administrative hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
For Unionville Police Department records, use the department’s published local contact. Its office is at 1611 Grant Street, and 660-947-7397 is not monitored around the clock. Nonemergency officer dispatch goes through 660-947-3200. MSHP records should be requested through Patrol channels. Do not send a sheriff request merely because the person later entered a Putnam County booking system.
The official Unionville Police Department page documents the local agency and its contact route.
The shared sheriff website does not merge UPD reports with sheriff-created arrest records.
How to Look Up Putnam County Arrests
The fastest route depends on the question. Current custody and a very recent release are roster questions. The source report belongs with the arresting agency. Filed charges belong in Case.net. MACHS is the Missouri State Highway Patrol Central Repository’s statewide open criminal-history product. The sheriff’s phone and written Sunshine request remain important when a web view is absent or unclear.
- Check the Putnam current-inmate roster, then the official 48-hour release view for a recent departure.
- Call the sheriff’s 24-hour line at 660-947-2515 to confirm current custody and the actual holding facility.
- Identify the arresting agency and request its arrest or incident report under Missouri section 610.100.
- Search Missouri Case.net after filing to compare the prosecutor’s charges and each court disposition.
- Use MACHS for statewide open criminal-history information, or submit a narrow written records request when online channels do not answer the question.
- For review of your own fingerprint-confirmed national record, use the FBI Identity History Summary channel rather than a county roster.
The current roster’s official interface is shown in the Putnam County Sheriff roster source.
This roster is the county’s best public starting point for current booking status, not a complete lifetime arrest index.
Missing from Putnam Arrest Rosters
An empty current-roster result does not prove that no arrest occurred. The person may have been released, transferred, held by another jurisdiction, booked under a spelling variation, or never entered the current Putnam view. Check the 48-hour release roster next. Then call the 24-hour line with enough detail for staff to identify the right custody event.
There is an important local wrinkle. Every visible 2026 roster listing reviewed in the research named Grundy County Jail or Detention Center as the holding location. Putnam County can track a detainee while another county boards that person. Confirm the live location before relying on Putnam’s street address for custody rules. The roster itself may name the holding facility in free text.
The official 48-hour release source provides the short recent-release window.
The release view fills one gap left by the current roster, but older Putnam County arrest records still require agency, court, or repository channels.
Note: Confirm the holding site by phone because a Putnam roster entry may identify another county’s detention facility.
What an Arrest Record Shows
A complete Putnam County arrest file can contain more than the public roster card. The arresting agency may record permitted subject identifiers, arrest date, time and location, officer or agency, legal authority, alleged offenses, and an incident or arrest number. Booking adds intake data, a fingerprint transaction, custody location, bond, and release information. A later prosecutor or court disposition may be appended to the state history, but it should be checked against the actual court case.
| Booking Number | A local intake identifier; inspected entries used a nine-digit format. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date & Time | When the jail recorded intake, which can follow the arrest time. |
| Arresting Agency | The sheriff, UPD, MSHP, conservation agent, or another authorized agency. |
| Charges | Preliminary free-text allegations that may later differ from prosecutor-filed counts. |
| Bond | Published release security or conditions when that field is populated. |
| Booking Photo | The roster may display one, but no individual photo is republished here. |
| Release Status | Current or released status, with the 48-hour view covering only a short period. |
Juvenile material, protected-victim information, medical data, and security-sensitive details may be withheld or redacted. Not every roster field is populated. Missing bond or location text should be confirmed with the sheriff instead of guessed.
Putnam Booking Data to MACHS
After an arrest, the officer completes a report and transport begins. Intake can include identity checks, a property inventory, screening, fingerprints, a photograph, a booking entry, and preliminary charges. A prompt initial appearance addresses custody and release. The prosecutor later decides whether and what to file. That decision can change the offense wording seen on the booking page.
Record flow: Arresting Agency › Booking and Fingerprints › Prosecutor Review › Putnam Court Filing › MSHP Central Repository
Missouri law requires qualifying events to reach the Central Repository through agency, prosecutor, court, and Corrections reporting. MACHS says the repository updates daily, but a very recent Putnam County arrest may not yet be reported or may not be an open event. A name result is also a possible match, not fingerprint confirmation.
For a subject-only fingerprint record beyond the county, the FBI electronic Identity History Summary portal is the official request channel.
The FBI product is for the subject’s own fingerprint history and does not replace the Putnam arrest report or court file.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
The sheriff’s current and 48-hour-release rosters are Putnam County’s closest official booking log. The interface offers Search By Name, including first or last name, plus Search, Show All, current or released choices, and newest or oldest sorting. An inspected entry contained a booking number, date and time, charge text, holding-location text, bond text, and a profile link. The roster does not promise the final filed charge.
The Putnam County Sheriff press archive adds selected incident context.
Press releases are editorial and selective. Their absence says nothing about whether a Putnam County arrest happened.
No separate daily arrest blotter or official sheriff or UPD mobile app was found. The web alert signup and the sheriff’s official crime-tip channel are documented web tools, but neither is a booking archive. For custody notices where enrollment exists, VINELink can supplement official calls, but it should not be treated as the source arrest report.
Putnam Arrest Records After 30 Days
Missouri Revised Statutes section 610.100 makes incident and arrest reports open at first, while active investigative reports are generally closed. If no charge is filed within 30 days after the arrest, the arrest report becomes closed except for its disposition portion and statutory exceptions. A dismissal or acquittal can also affect repository access without erasing every public copy made earlier.
For a written Putnam County request, state the record type, approximate date and time, location, agency, report number if known, and preferred format. Ask for an estimate. Section 610.023 calls for action as soon as possible and by the end of the third business day, or a response stating why production is delayed and the earliest time and place. Section 610.026 governs permitted copy and labor charges.
Putnam Arrest or Prison Custody
The Putnam roster, Missouri DOC Offender Search, and the federal Bureau of Prisons locator answer different questions. The county roster is for current and recent local custody. MODOC becomes relevant after a state prison commitment or during state probation or parole supervision. The federal locator covers federal custody. A Putnam County booking alone will not place someone in a state prison or federal search.
| System | Best Use | Main Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Putnam sheriff roster | Current booking and 48-hour release | Not a full arrest history |
| Missouri DOC Offender Search | State custody or supervision | Not short-term county jail data |
| Federal BOP locator | Federal inmate location | Does not contain Missouri county bookings |
If the current roster does not resolve the issue, call Putnam’s 24-hour line, check the recent-release view, identify any transfer, and then use the official system for the named holding authority.
Arrests vs Convictions
A Putnam County arrest entry records an act of custody and preliminary allegations. A conviction is a court judgment of guilt after a plea or trial. The arresting agency and jail create the first set of records. The Putnam Circuit Clerk maintains the filed case and disposition. MSHP may later compile reportable events, but the source judgment remains the best place to understand the result.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by an arresting agency and booking office | Created through the court’s judgment |
| Shows that custody and booking occurred | Shows a finding of guilt after plea or trial |
| Held in agency reports and the sheriff roster | Held in the clerk’s file and reported to the repository |
| May lead to release, no charge, dismissal, or a filed case | May lead to sentence, appeal, probation, custody, or lawful expungement |
When the booking charge and court result disagree, use the Putnam County criminal court case and its charge-level dispositions. To correct your own repository history, gather the agency report and clerk proof, then contact the MSHP Record Check Processing Unit with the supporting documents.
Note: An arrest is not proof of guilt, and a booking may end without charges, by dismissal, or by acquittal.
